June 12, 2008; New single, new photo, new wallpapers

Here it is: the update I promised for so long. The wallpapers are finally online! You can find them in the media section of this site. I'm sorry it took so long to get them up, I've been really busy with finishing up college stuff. Once July's here I'll have more time for the site and give it a big update and cleanup.

Faith performed at the CMA festival (fanfair) last Friday. Before the performance she also attended two listening parties for her new Christmas album, one for industry people and one for fanclub members.

She announced that the album will be released on September 18 and the first single will be called "A baby changes everything". I've heard great things about the album and I can't wait to hear if myself.

"I waited a long time to do a Christmas record because I wanted to take the time to do it right. I'm a huge Christmas fan and consumer. You walk into my house and it’s like someone has vomited Christmas all over the place. I have the napkins in the bathroom with Santa Claus on them. I wanted to create an album like I’d purchase."

She brought her three daughters with her today to soundcheck. She told them, "Come hang out with Mom and we can go and y'a’ll watch me rehearse and you can run around the stadium." They also accompanied her to the listening party for her Christmas album.
When she told Gracie about the day's plans, her daughter asked her, "How much are we going to make?"

Hill said, "Ten dollars."

"Can’t do it for that," Gracie told her.

"OK, then how about $20?"

"I'll do it for $20."

"So they did pretty well. Then were going to come back tonight and they decided it was way too boring and they’re not interested so they stayed at home.

Faith will also be doing another NFL season. I wonder if they will use the same song as they did last time...

I uploaded the first released photo for the new album. It's in the albums folder in the gallery.

April 25; Swampstock is this year!

Tim McGraw Returns Home For Swampstock 2008

Faith will be there too!

I'm really bummed that they are doing this on September 13 though. If they would do it two weeks earlier, I'd be able to go :( I'm still excited to see all the pics and hear all the stories though! I always love all the softball pics :D

April 19; What do YOU want?

Hey fans!

I thought it was about time for a personal note from the webmaster. How are you all?

Since this is a website by a fan for other fans, I want to ask you what you want to see on this page in the future? I know I haven't updated the content of stealingkisses.net very much lately other than the gallery of course. I intend to do that and have been for a while but keep getting caught up in other things... If you are good at making wallpapers or avatars feel free to send me any you have of Faith and I will then add them to the website. Pictures for the gallery are always welcome as well :D

I've been thinking of adding a video page to the website but am still not sure about it. It would take me a lot of time to set it up and add all the videos so before taking action on this please let me know if you would be interested on the tagboard. If I do decide to set up a video page it would most likely go online sometime this summer.

If there is anything else you would like to see on this page please let me know on the tagboard as well.

On another note: Are you as excited about Faith's Christmas album as I am? I know it's crazy but I was listening to random Christmas songs last night (who does that in April, right...) and I got so excited for this album!

Love you all! Thanks for visiting stealingkisses.net! I can hardly believe that this website has been online for more than a year already!!!

xoxo

Kirsten

P.S.

I just came across this really weird blog on the internet. It was passed on to me in an email. Check out the link pic below! It's not Faith related but neither is this entire update ;)

April 18; I made screencaps

I made screencaps of the 2008 CMT awards as promised. I also added screencaps of some other shows: Cry live at Music station Japan, TOTP2 Cry live, Letterman show 2007. I'm in a rush so I don't have time to post links or previews right now but I bet you know where to find them ;)

They are in the screencaps folder in the gallery.

April 15; CMT awards plus other news

Before starting with the CMT awards news: another fun article:

Tim McGraw Pens a Children's Book
Country music star Tim McGraw is releasing his first children's book this fall titled My Little Girl.
The Grammy-award winner, who has three daughters with wife Faith Hill, penned the book with singer-songwriter Tom Douglas, according to the book's publisher Thomas Nelson. The duo also wrote McGraw's hit song of the same title.

The book is about a dad and his daughter who, together with their dog, spend "an ordinary turned extraordinary day together," says the publisher. It will hit bookshelves in October, with a foreward by Faith Hill

And now on to the CMT awards: Tim and Faith didn't win unfortunately but they did get to perform the song that they were nominated for. They also got to present an award. They looked like they were having lots of fun and I think it would be a great idea if they host the entire show next year!

What do you think: did Faith got her hair cut or was it just pinned up? Either way, it looked fabulous!

I posted pics of last night in the gallery. Check them out!

A cute little tidbit about Faith and Taylor Swift:

Taylor was barefoot for most of the show.

The 18-year-old later attributed her lack of footwear to a painful pair of hot pink heels, and a little advice from an awards show veteran.
"I walked by Faith Hill and I was like, 'This hurts so bad.' And she was like, 'Take them off,' " Swift tells PEOPLE. "Faith Hill told me to. So I did it."

CMT brings the 2008 CMT MUSIC AWARDS to the fans, one item at a time, as CMT ONE COUNTRY presents an online auction of items donated by awards show participants beginning Tuesday, April 15.  All proceeds benefit CMT ONE COUNTRY partners, which include America’s Second Harvest, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Habitat for Humanity, Hands On Network and the USO (United Service Organizations).

Faith will be donating a shirt that she has worn during the 2006 Soul2Soul tour. I haven't been able to find a picture of the shirt yet. If I do I will make sure to most it here. You can bid on the shirt (starting April 15) on cmtauctions.com.

Faith and Tim are in this weeks people magazine. The are in a section about couples and how much money they make a year. In case you care: Tim makes 70 million and Faith makes 49 million.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

April 7; Cute quote from Country Weekly

"Tim is such a dreamer. One of my favorite things to do is listen to him rattle off his dreams; it's better than having him read a book of poems to me... And they're very simple dreams, some of them: 'One day, I'd like to have a tomato garden."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

April 6; Celebrity fight night and CMT song!

Faith attended the Muhammad Ali celebrity fight night in Scottsdale, Arizona and sang a song there. I added pics of the event to the gallery. I will be adding some more audience and performance pics in a minute!

On another note: it has been confirmed that Tim and Faith will be performing I need you on the CMT music awards. I really hope they will do the stripped down acoustic version of the song. That is my favorite!

I would also like to remind you all again to vote for the CMT awards. Tim and Faith are nominated for the video of I need you. That is one of my favorite videos and songs so I would love to see it win.

To refresh your memory: this is what the video looks like. Can't you feel the love?

March 10; News update

Faith has joined Stardoll.com according to her official website:

Stardoll, the online entertainment destination for girls aged 9-17 focused on fame, fashion and friends, today announced that top country vocalist Faith Hill has officially joined its virtual community. By debuting a presence on Stardoll, Faith will now interact directly with the more than 14.5 million aspiring fashionistas and pop culture enthusiasts worldwide who are already part of Stardoll.

“Joining Stardoll is exciting for me, especially because my kids are such fans,” said Faith. “This is the first time I’ve explored a virtual world and I’m amazed at what a creative, kind and eclectic mix of girls belong to the community."

I found this little tidbit online about a possible new Faith song:
"Make Every Word Hurt."  is a song written by Lori McKenna She said this about it at one of her shows: "This may be the saddest song I've ever written." McKenna said she hoped that Martina McBride would record it, but she rejected it, looking for a more positive song. No problem, however, because Faith Hill cut it two weeks ago for an upcoming CD. One could easily imagine Faith Hill doing the heartfelt song a lot of justice with lines like "I'm not going to love you any more/you're nothing I need."

Faith has been nominated for a CMT video music award. You can cast your vote on this website: click!

Some other random info you might like to know: a new sweatshirt has been added to Faith's official store. Her fanclub present has also been updated. If you join you will now get calender instead of a license plate. I think I may have to renew early just to get that calender!! ;)

March 3; Faith will be performing at the CMA festival!

With the CMA Music Festival just three months away, the first wave of artists announced for the event suggests it will be a strong lineup of performances.

Faith Hill has committed to sing during the four-day run, June 5-8, marking the first time she's appeared in a decade, according to The Tennessean. In addition, Dwight Yoakam will be making his first CMA Fest appearance in 20 years.

Also set for the event are Alan Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, Josh Turner, Kellie Pickler, Rodney Atkins, Jewel and Lady Antebellum.

Formerly known as Fan Fair, the CMA Music Festival features nightly concerts at Nashville's LP Field, the home of the Tennessee Titans, plus smaller shows in several venues downtown and exhibit booths where fans can meet many of country's stars and secure photos and autographs.

February 11; New pics and a Faith fan needs your help

I don't normally post stories on this website that don't have to do with Faith directly. Today I will make an exception. The article that I post below was passed on to me by another Faith fan. It was originally published in the Des Moines Register in Iowa on Sunday Feb 3, 2008. The article is about a young Faith fan who needs a bone marrow transplant to survive. I was touched by Maddie's story and hope to find a donor for her by posting the article here. Maddie is a Faith fan like us.

If you think you can help Maddie you can go to helpmaddie.com or call the Iowa Marrow Donor Program toll free at 1-800-944-8220.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
BY JOHN CARLSON
The back door slammed, and perky, smiling Maddie Landwehr, home from school, ran straight into the living room and hugged her dad.

The 7-year-old girl gobbled down three chocolate chip mini-muffins, did a cartwheel and told her parents, again, that she wants to go to Disneyland.

Amazing, given what this child has gone through, what she endures every day, and what she faces.

"Maddie has had nine surgeries," said her dad, Ernie Landwehr.

"No," said Maddie. "Ten."

They counted. She was right. But that's only part of this child's story.

Maddie was 2 years old when she was adopted by Ernie and Nancy Landwehr of Altoona. It's when orphanage workers in India told them of the horror of how the girl's life began.

Born to an unwed, teenage mother, Maddie - whose full name is Madison Aditi Landwehr - literally was "thrown away" moments after her birth and left to die in a remote area of central India. Lying in the open, she was mauled by wild dogs. Her right buttock was devoured, as was her hip. That destroyed a growth plate, which allows a child's leg to grow properly.

She was near death when she was found and carried to a hospital, where doctors saved her life. She weighed only 4 pounds.

Four months later, she was taken to an orphanage in western India, and that's where she stayed for a year and a half until the Landwehrs brought her home to Iowa.

"It was terrible, unimaginable, but I guess that's obvious to anybody who hears the story," said Ernie, a college admissions official.

"I just know that when we saw her picture and then when we saw her with our own eyes, we knew that this is our little girl."

Which should be the beginning of a happy story. And, through all those surgeries to fix her leg and help her walk, a story that should bring a happy ending.

Not yet. Maybe not at all.

Ernie and Nancy learned last year that their happy, beautiful little girl has an inherited, rare blood disease called Fanconi anemia.

It prevents her red and white blood cells and platelets from reproducing as they should. People with the disease are likely to develop serious infections and cancer-related illnesses, particularly leukemia.

That means Maddie needs a bone marrow transplant to have a chance to survive. So far, no suitable donor has been found.

"We're told that any suitable donor will almost certainly have to be of Indian descent," said Nancy, a stay-at-home mom who with Ernie has three grown biological children. "There are a lot of people of Indian descent in Iowa and around the country, and we're trying to get the word out and encourage people to be tested."

Any healthy person between the ages of 18 and 60 is eligible for testing. Their blood cells are examined after a quick, painless swab of the cheek. Information from the swab is entered into a database, and a computer analysis determines if a person is a suitable donor.

The 2000 census, the most recent count of Iowans with a reliable breakdown by age and race, found 3,751 Asian Indians between ages 18 and 60 living in Iowa. It's likely that number is higher today.

The donor can come from anywhere - there are 6 million names on the worldwide bone marrow donor registry. Ernie and Nancy are certain that somebody, somewhere, can save their girl's life. It's just a matter of finding the person.

The thing is, while Maddie seems healthy - spend time with her and you'd never know she was sick - she can't wait long.

"She is very sick, and she definitely needs this bone marrow transplant," said Dr. Deborah Smith-Wright, a Des Moines native and a pediatrician at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Minneapolis, who has been caring for Maddie since 2005. "Spontaneous remissions are extremely rare in Fanconi anemia patients."

Smith-Wright said there are only about 1,000 cases of Fanconi anemia worldwide.

"Maddie has been through so much," Smith-Wright said. "The injuries, the infections, the treatments and now this. It's been a rough time for her, but she's a brave girl. She's a real favorite around this hospital."

Her first surgery was 3˝ years ago and was an initial step in
repairing her hip and lengthening her right leg, which was not growing as it should.

"The doctors in India did their best, I'm sure," Ernie said, "but doctors here told us she looked like she'd been sewn up in a hurry by a vet."

She was in a body cast for eight weeks after the first surgery in Minneapolis - the first of three such casts.

But her blood tests indicated a probable infection. Her white blood cell and platelet counts were at a critically low level.

"She wore a thick-soled shoe on her right foot to even out her legs," Nancy said. "It was so she could walk reasonably normally. She hated it. It was like wearing a brick."

The first leg-lengthening surgery was last March at the Shriners' hospital. The leg was attached to a crank-like device, which had to be turned four times a day for 45 days.

"Maddie is the one who turned the crank," Ernie said. "Her leg grew a little over 4 centimeters."

Other than a short time in a wheelchair, she never stopped walking. There were more infections, more drugs, more surgeries and injections, including the strong antibiotics she is given through a port in her chest three times a day.

"The Fanconi anemia, we never imagined such a thing was possible after all she'd gone through," said Ernie.

"She was sitting here one night, and all of a sudden her nose started bleeding. I put a towel over it. It wasn't long before the towel was soaked with blood. We had to call an ambulance. I couldn't believe she could have that much blood in her little body."

The infections, the bleeding and sporadic blood counts led to the tests that confirmed Fanconi anemia.

The orthopedic treatments have been done at the Shriners' hospital at no cost to the Landwehr family. The bone marrow transplant would be done at University of Minnesota Hospitals.

"My daddy tells me I have special blood," Maddie said, listening as her parents describe her illness and treatments. "He says I have angel's blood."

Friends have created a Web site, "helpmaddie.com," which tells her story and gives information on how to donate money to the family to help with travel expenses. The Web site also lists fundraising events to help the family, such as a Feb. 23 pancake breakfast in Maddie's honor at Clay Elementary School in Altoona, where she is a second-grader.

Maddie is small for her age - she weighs 30 pounds - and wears three little silver rings on her tiny fingers.

"I love jewelry," she said, giggling.

She wants to meet  Faith Hill  . She wants to ride a bike. She loves school, and her favorite things at Clay Elementary are, in order, recess, science and math.

When she grows up, she wants to become a doctor.

"I want to help sick people," she said.

But all of that depends upon finding a donor.

"It's not critical today," said Nancy. "She's getting along fine - today. Next week, it could become critical. Or next month. We just don't know."

"It's not a matter of if this kicks in," said Ernie. "It's a matter of when."

They have talked to some of the best doctors in the world and have done their own research. They know that Maddie could be expected to live only to the age of 12 without the bone marrow transplant. With it, she might well live into her 20s or 30s or longer. And by then, with ongoing research, who knows?

"What we are certain of is that she needs the transplant to save her life," Nancy said.

"It would be wonderful if everyone got themselves tested. The chances are you can save a life. If you're of Indian descent, for Maddie's sake, we ask that you please be screened as a potential donor."

Maddie understands - at least as much as a 7-year-old can comprehend such a thing - and she's ready to deal with whatever comes next.

"Somebody will help me," she said.

It would, everybody in this family knows, be the ultimate gift.

But Ernie said the greatest giver of all has been Maddie.

"I can't measure what she has done for us," said her dad. "I can't imagine what our lives would be like without her. She is the joy of our lives. She has courage and great humor and a spirit unlike any I've ever seen."

With the help of somebody they have never met - possibly somebody they never will meet -
she will be in their family for a long time.

February 8; Faith cancels Aretha Franklin tribute performance

Faith was scheduled to perform at the Musiccares event tonight to honor Aretha Franklin. She was supposed to sing one song at the event. But she unfortunately came down with Bronchitis and therefore had to cancel. I feel so bad for her because she is such a huge Aretha fan!

This is Faith's statement:

"I am devastated and deeply disappointed that I will not be able to sing at the MusiCares Dinner honoring Aretha. I have been looking forward to being a part of this event for months and even after being diagnosed with a bronchial infection I came to LA anyway hoping that I'd be able to sing. I simply can't. Aretha is my musical hero and she deserves all of the accolades that she receives. I only hope that I'll get the chance to be a part of something like this in the future."

To even out the bad news I'll post a cute little article that I found on the internet:

MAGGIE MCGRAW NOT HAPPY WITH MOM & DAD'S VIDEO
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill did such a convincing portrayal of a former
couple in their video for "Like We Never Loved At All" that they even
fooled their own daughter! In the dramatic video for the song, Tim and
Faith act out a fight and appear to be on the splits. And while the
couple says their three daughters knew it was just an act, their seven-
year-old, Maggie, was still upset watching the video. "Maggie, our
middle daughter, got really upset when they were there and I came
walking down the hall holding hands with that girl," says Tim. "Yeah,
she was wanting to go hit the girl.

"She was mad at you the whole night," laughs Faith. "It was really
funny."

- About Christmas at the McGraw house: I posted a sound clip in my last post but some of you weren't able to hear it. Hopefully you can hear it now by clicking here: FaithandTimXmas

- It's old news but while we are on the topic of Christmas...Tim, Faith and the girls have given Taylor Swift a pink Christmas tree with personalized ornaments for her 18th birthday. Isn't that sweet? :)

- Faith has sold over 30 million units worldwide. To celebrate that fact 4 autographed and personalized plaques are being given out. You can enter by clicking here: Win a plaque!

January 10; Back in full swing!

Happy new year to you all :)

As you can see I'm putting up a new layout that will accommodate the adcode better. A lot of you have already been visiting the gallery and as you may have noticed I've been adding pics to it almost daily. Once I have it finished I'll let you know.

There is also some Faith news. I'll update with that tomorrow. For those of you who have been missing the tagboard lately, it will be back soon. Take care and see you all soon :)
